XTERRA is excited to introduce the Virginia Series as one of the new additions to its 2009 XTERRA Trail Run Series schedule. Kicking off these brand new events is the XTERRA Trail Tromp Trail Race on April 19 in Ashland’s Poor Farm Park.
Just 4 miles west of historic Ashland, Virginia and 15 minutes north of Richmond, Poor Farm Park sets the stage for a duet of trail runs, the main 13km distance and a 5km fun run. The course is nestled within the 254-acre Hanover County park and is 90% made of twisting, single track trails. Runners can expect technical, rolling hills inside the dense woods for this off-road adventure.
The XTERRA Trail Tromp Trail Race is the first of four races in the 2009 XTERRA Virginia Trail Run Series. The top 15 runners in each age group will be awarded points toward their series totals. Those with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned XTERRA Regional Champions and receive free entry to the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 13 in Bend, Oregon. From there, runners can go head to head against the world’s best trail runners at the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship December 6 on the spectacular Hawaiian island of Oahu.

RunRideRace is hosting 3 trail races that, along with the Xduo will make up the XTERRA Trail Run Virginia Series. We are still developing this page. For info an registration visit our Running Events Page.
